Hey guys! Dream Act Now! at UTSA is hosting an event at the DT UTSA campus on March 26, 2011. We will be providing information for immigrant youth on how to proceed with their education beyond high school. Information provided will include:

Share the Hunger Striker's first supper with our community that we all have dedicated to protect and empower.

WHERE: Jefferson United Methodist Church 758 Donaldson Avenue 78201 (across from Jefferson High School)
----This is a potluck-style event so please bring your favorite dish,complete with your family, neighbors, lovers, friends, professors, students or anyone else that likes to eat! There will be additional food provided as well as plates, napkins, spoons, forks and knives.

“Whether it is serving in the military as a JAG officer or serving in the front line as an intelligence officer to lead Marines, who themselves may be DREAMers, I want to earn my place next to the great heroes of our nation that have and are fighting to defend the bedrock principles that are embedded in our Constitution,”
Yesterday DREAMers and Dream Activists organized a blood drive in Washington, D.C.
"“We’re doing this to show that we have contributed to society, and we do give back to this country,” Martinez said. “We’re all human. We all have the same blood. We contribute so much and that doesn't get told."
DREAMers and Dream Activists from all over the nation continue to arrive in DC as the vote this Saturday will determine the lives of millions of students. We Hope all senators will vote YES on the American Dream Act.

BREAKING: San Antonio DREAMers Will Not Be Charged

As we reported at the end of last month, DREAM Act protesters in Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s San Antonio, Texas offices were arrested after a sit-in there. Carlos Guerra made the point that it was the City of San Antonio via its Port of San Antonio arm that had the DREAMers arrested.
NewsTaco has exclusively learned that the Port will NOT pursue charges against those arrested on November 29, according to Port Public Information Manager Paco Felici.
An attorney for seven of those arrested, Ricardo Briones, said the Port’s decision was news to him. “Awesome,” he says, noting that the arrests were of concern to several of the students, who have plans to become teachers and professors. “This is a relief. If they’re not going to press charges that’s so cool, it’s up to the DA to drop charges, so we’re not out of the ballpark yet.”
The DREAMers in San Antonio have been on a hunger strike for more than 30 days now. A court date to address their charges was set tentatively in January.
